When is the best time to book support?
There’s no right or wrong time to book! You can reach out to us at any point during your pregnancy. However, we recommend contacting us as early as possible to ensure availability. We also do our best to accommodate last-minute due dates when possible.
Do we select the doula we’d like to work with?
Yes. Once a family expresses interest in working with us, we schedule a Meet the Doulas call with available doulas whose schedules align with your due date. This is a 20-minute virtual session where you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, share your preferences, and determine who feels like the best fit for your support.
Can I book a service and pay through my insurance provider?
Payment for services is required at the time of booking, either in full or with a partial payment, depending on the service. While we don’t bill insurance directly, we’re happy to provide an itemized invoice to help you seek reimbursement from your insurance provider.
How can I find out if my insurance covers lactation support?
After your 30-minute consultation, you’ll receive a link to verify your insurance. If eligible, there will be no out-of-pocket cost, and our IBCLC will contact you directly to schedule your visit.
Do you accept Medicaid?
Yes. We currently accept Maryland Medicaid with select insurance providers.
What do I need to provide during an overnight shift?
We ask that clients provide a flat surface for the doula to rest, such as a sofa or bed, when possible.
Do you provide light housekeeping support during in-home sleep consultations?
During in-home sleep consultations, we’re happy to assist with feeding and washing or sanitizing any feeding supplies used during the night. However, we do not provide other household duties during these consultations.
Can a third party pay for my services?
Absolutely! If a relative, friend, or co-worker would like to contribute to your postpartum care, we can include them on the invoice to make payment arrangements.
Will I receive the same level of care overnight as during the day?
Yes. Overnight care is just as comprehensive, with hands-on newborn care, feeding support, light tasks, and ongoing emotional and mental support tailored to your needs.
